The Seattle St. Patrick’s Day has always been a family favorite.  Whether it’s rainy, windy, sunny, cold or warm, lots of people show up wearing their green and full of spirit.  This year’s parade was no exception. It was an event filled with smiles on the parade route and smiles from parade watchers.  This 3 minute segment shows the dancing, singing, bagpipe and trumpet playing, children, puppies and other fun activities during the parade.

The parade is a great way to show community spirit and I had a lot of fun videotaping and editing the segment this year.

The Newport High School Follies, an all school variety show for the Bellevue Washington High School took place last weekend and I had the terrific opportunity of taping the Tech Night on Wednesday March 3rd in HDV.   I was trying out the new HD editing options in the Avid and learned a lot about what it can and can’t do.  Fortunately I was able to put together a 7 minute highlight sampler from that footage.  Here it is:

That was just a run through that night.  The real plan was to tape an actual performance night.  So on Friday March 5th, I brought the cameras, mics and tripod back and taped the actual performance.  It was so much better.  The acts had high energy and the lights and sound flowed so much smoother.  The video turned out great.  I am making DVD’s available to the school as soon as I can get them duplicated.
